Partnership Ministries

Donna and John Davis are leading their fifth consecutive vision team to Tijuana June 17-26. Donna will be heading up the vision clinic, while others work on constructing buildings for churches. Pray for Donna and John and the team as they prepare to bring sight to the needy of this Mexican border town.

Carolyn Watson continues to "trot the globe" with glasses. Carolyn's boundless energy and organizational skills amaze onlookers. Africa, Mexico and Spain are a few of the places her teams have touched with better sight. Carolyn's projects are always in combination with evangelism or an effort to help a local church grow. Here's part of a recent email:
I was thinking just this morning of all that has come of the "vision clinics" ministry, and how it has expanded and is making such a difference in opening up doors of ministry in many places and how it started with YOU and that few pair of glasses and the question -- could people be fit with used glasses? How fulfilling for you to know that you were used in that way.
Last week in the south of Mexico City, we had a construction team working on renovating a building, while we saw 600-700 people in the vision clinic. Word came back that the vision clinic was tremendously impacting the community, breaking down barriers and opening doors, as we know it can do. The timing was perfect as this pastor has been in the house since December, and people are now very open to visits, Bible studies and children's activities. On the Saturday after our week, their regular kid's club doubled in attendance. I had done four days of VBS with kids during the week.
It was a very positive week -- fruitful in ministry, in doing things that were very helpful to the church to enable them to open up ministry in the community. Also, everyone working in the vision clinic (several had done it before) were great and excited about their parts. The pastor was very pleased.

Partnering with Agros for Vision needs of Guatemala

The eye glass clinic was a success!! We screened 61 people, ages 5 - 70. Moms wanted all their children screened. Most of the older people benefited from reading glasses. There were 27 readers fitted. We found it heartwarming to see the people who had received the readers focusing diligently as they read the eye care brochure that was passed out to each

patient. One in particular was Diego Sanchez who immediately sat down at the clinic and read with a smile. He didn't even notice us taking photos of him. Another grandmother, Teresa, had stopped me on the first day of our arrival to ask when the clinic would open. She was our first customer. She received +3.00 readers and left with a big smile. The villagers and our team thank you for making the very last minute arrangements for glasses to be picked up in Guatemala City. It was a successful week in La Esperanza. Thank you again. Your mission on eye glasses is a light to those in need. Blessings to you.

Joneses Plan Summer Visit to U.S.

Since CAG, where Memo (Bill) teaches, will be on summer vacation from May 26 until mid-August, Bill and Susan will be returning to the U.S. for a visit and to do some support-raising in June and part of July. This past school year, much of their support was provided by their own savings. In order to continue in Guatemala they need additional monthly support from MCM. Bill has committed to another year of teaching at CAG. Susan will continue her ministries in the villages of Santa Marta, San Rafael and Yalu as well as with the girls’ home and backyard clinica. If you would like to support their work in Guatemala, and other MCM ministries such as Lorenzo and Mauricio’s care, please indicate this on the enclosed response sheet. If you think your church might be interested in some support of this ministry, and would like to meet with Bill and Susan or hear a presentation on the work in Guatemala, please email at suejjones@aol.com. They will mostly be on the west coast, so if you want to say hi and have a cup of coffee with them, please e-mail them and they will quickly return your message.

Future Address Change:

Erika and Graham Jones have been handling all donations and deposits to MCM from San Francisco. In June they will be moving to St. Louis for Graham’s orthodontia training. We will alert regular supporters of the new address for donations. Please email with questions.

Newsletters and E-updates
In order to conserve resources, only four printed newsletters will be sent each year. You can keep up to date via email at no expense to the ministry. If you would like to receive e-newsletters from Guatemala, email Susan at suejjones@aol.com.
